All you need to know about Global T20 Canada Cricket League

The Canada T20 League is a league to be started from 28th June to 15th July. In this league, 6 teams will be taking part in it. It will mark the return of David Warner and Steve Smith who will be making a comeback in cricket after ball-tampering scandal.

All the 6 teams will have 4 local Canadian players and also some top quality international players. In February 2018, the International Cricket Council decided to give approval for Canada T20 League. The telecast of matches will be shown on live in India and many countries. 600 players from Canada registered for the draft out. A total of 1,600 players applied for the draft. The players draft took on 3rd June 2018.

The matches will be played at Maple Leaf Cricket Club in King City, Ontario. Famous coaches like Tom Moody, Phil Simmons, Waqar Younis will coach the teams.

More information about Canada T20 League 2018

The T20 League would be a first major tournament in North America. In the round robin matches, each team will play others once in 1st playoff rounds. The second round matches consist of the single round where they would take on the other opponent.

Like the IPL, top four teams will qualify for the playoff stage. Top two teams from the league stage would feature in qualifier 1 and winner progress into the finals. The winner of elimination between 3rd and 4th place will face the loser of Qualifier 1.

A total of 22 will take in the inaugural edition of Canada T20 League including 18 league matches, two qualifiers, one eliminator and final. All teams have to play 6 matches in the league stage.
