Ashes 2023: [WATCH] Stuart Broad Takes 2 Wickets In 2 Balls Against Australia

As part of the ongoing first Ashes Test at Edgbaston, England’s fast bowler Stuart Broad successfully bowled out Australian David Warner for the second time in a Test match. Given that this is Warner’s 15th red-ball dismissal, it is appropriate to refer to the southpaw as Broad’s bunny.

Australia’s innings was 14/0 when it was resumed on day 2 and Broad bowled a short, wide delivery outside off stump in the seventh over of the day.

In an attempt to slash it hard, Warner edged the ball, which then struck his leg stump. Warner, who managed just 9 runs off of 27 balls, completely despised himself after being dismissed, while Broad’s joy knew no bounds. Take a look at this wicket:.

Marnus Labuschagne entered the game, and much to England’s delight, he interfered with the first ball he encountered—a full, wide one. When the ball veered to the edge, Johnny Bairstow dived to his right and made a spectacular catch, whipping Edgbaston into a frenzy.

The Kangaroos were then somewhat stabilized by new batsman Steve Smith and Warner’s opening partner Usman Khawaja as they added 38 runs in 16.3 overs. The batter was then given out LBW after England captain Ben Stokes produced a miraculous inswinger that miraculously missed Smith’s bat.

Smith immediately challenged the ruling, but the TV umpire was able to clear up any lingering questions with the aid of ball-tracking. Look at the dismissal right here.

English cricket experts around the world were split when they declared their first innings earlier on day 1 at 393/8. Joe Root had just hit a magnificent century, his 30th in Tests, and he was still alive and well at 118.

As the Aussies faced the Bazball for the first time, Zack Crawley and Johnny Bairstow each scored 61 and 78 runs, respectively, in addition to Root. With four wickets, Nathan Lyon was Australia’s top bowler, followed by Josh Hazlewood with two and Scott Boland and Cameron Green with each one.
