Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj was at his mighty best during the 2023 Asia Cup final on Sunday, September 17 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. He wreaked havoc with the ball in the innings as he blew away the Sri Lankan batting order. is delivery, which led to Dasun Shanaka’s dismissal, left the fans amazed.
Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first. They lost Kusal Perera in the very first over and were soon reduced to 12/5 in around four overs. Dasun Shanaka walked out at the crease with the aim to steady the sinking ship. However, he was sent back by Mohammed Siraj with a ripper.
The incident took place during the sixth over of the innings. Mohammed Siraj bowled a full middles-stump delivery, which got some late movement. Dasun Shanaka completely missed the delivery, which went on to rattle his stumps. The Sri Lankan skipper had to walk back for a duck.

Mohammed Siraj becomes the fourth-fastest Indian to 50 ODI wickets
Mohammed Siraj destroyed the Sri Lanka batting unit in the 2023 Asia Cup final on Sunday, September 17 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. He took his maiden five-wicket haul in ODI cricket during the innings. He finished the innings taking six wickets, conceding just 21 runs in seven overs. Sri Lanka was bowled out for a paltry 50 runs in the first inning, with a highest score of 17 runs by Kusal Mendis.
Mohammed Siraj became the fourth fastest Indian to claim 50 wickets in one-day internationals. Ajit Agarkar leads the chart reaching the 50-wicket milestone in 23 matches. Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah are second and third on the list respectively. In 29 matches, Mohammed Siraj has taken 53 wickets in ODI cricket for India. The 6/21 in the 2023 Asia Cup final is his best bowling performance in ODI cricket.
