Nepalese supporters are thoroughly enjoying themselves at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, as this marks the inaugural men’s international cricket encounter between India and Nepal at the senior level.

Nepal made an impressive beginning, swiftly reaching 65 runs during the powerplay overs. However, their scoring pace dwindled following the dismissal of opener Kushal Bhurtel.

Virat Kohli missed a catch from Aasif Sheikh early in the match

Indian bowlers Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj came close to dismissing both Nepal openers within the first seven balls of the match. Shami initially induced an edge from Bhurtel’s bat, but Shreyas Iyer couldn’t hold onto the catch in the slip area. On the very next delivery, Aasif Sheikh mishit a ball from Mohammed Siraj towards short cover fielder Virat Kohli.

Kohli attempted the catch, but his timing in the jump was slightly off, resulting in a missed opportunity and the batter got a life. They finished their innings at 230 in 48.2 overs as well.
