The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is currently pondering to postpone the upcoming Asia XI vs World XI series amidst the large scale threat due to coronavirus epidemic. The apex body had decided to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of their Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with three T20I games. The games were scheduled to take place on March 18 and 21, 2020 in Mirpur. Both the games will have international status.

The coronavirus threat has rocked the entire world causing shutdown to many sporting events. More than 35 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country. Various organisations are adopting various measures to prevent it from spreading. As a result, BCB is planning to postpone the three-matches as a precautionary move.

“Bangladesh Cricket Board is all set to cancel the two international T-20 matches between Asia XI and World XI that they were supposed to host to mark the centenary birthday of the father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman," a report in cricfrenzy.com suggests.

Furthermore, the organising committee has contacted the participating players to know their stand about the tournament. According to the report, the participation of most of the players looks doubtful.
