The Australian Team for the 3rd Test match against Pakistan to be played from 3rd-7th January 2024 has been announced. Australia has taken a 2-0 lead in the series after the hosts registered 79 runs victory in the 2nd Test match at Melbourne Cricket Ground, MCG. With this win, the Aussies moved up during the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.
The team looks well-settled and hopes for another impressive performance in the 3rd and final Test match. David Warner would look to sign off with a great batting display. David Warner will play its last Test match against Pakistan from 3rd January onwards.
“We’ve kept the squad unchanged from Melbourne to Sydney as we aim to sweep the Test series. We’re excited to honour David Warner in his last Test and acknowledge his amazing career on his home turf,” Bailey said in a statement quoted by cricket.com.au.
Australia would look to give David Warner by winning the third Test match at Sydney Cricket Ground, SCG. It has been an excellent performance by the Aussies team as they would look to continue their brilliant performances in the 3rd and final Test match.
Usman Khawaja and David Warner would open the innings. Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh and Alex Carey will comprise middle-order batters. Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood consist of pace bowling options while Nathan Lyon will be the lone spin bowling option.
Pat Cummins led from the front with 10 wickets in the entire match and would hope to continue their winning form in the 3rd Test gaining momentum in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.
The Australian Cricket Team will look to dominate Pakistan in the 3rd Test and continue their winning streak against Asian Giants on Australian soil since 1995. Australia won the first Test match by a massive 360 runs bowling out Pakistan for 89 runs in the 2nd innings setting the target of 450 runs.
