AUS vs WI: [WATCH] Matthew Forde And Roston Chase Experienced A Run-Out Mix-Up And Got Into A Heated Argument

Matthew Forde and Roston Chase found themselves in a substantial mix-up trying to take a single, resulting in Forde losing his wicket in the third and final ODI against Australia at Manuka Oval in Canberra on Tuesday. Forde entered the crease after Romario Shepherd’s dismissal in the same over by Xavier Bartlett.

Keen to open his account, Forde struck the ball towards mid-wicket, initiating a quick run. However, his partner at the non-striker’s end was not attentive. By the time substitute fielder Mackenzie Harvey dove to halt the ball and threw it to the wicketkeeper’s end, Forde’s sprint resulted in a run-out.

Making things worse, Forde, already with no possibility of returning to the crease, slipped and tumbled in the center of the pitch as Josh Inglis dislodged the bails. An infuriated Forde directed his frustration towards Chase, and the two engaged in a verbal exchange while Australia celebrated the wicket.

Forde and Chase continued their verbal exchange as Forde was heading back to the pavilion after scoring only two runs.

Matthew Forde, a newcomer to the West Indies squad for the ODI series against Australia, entered the three-match series with just one previous ODI appearance. In the second ODI against Australia, he delivered a commendable performance, taking Steve Smith’s wicket during his bowling spell.

Roston Chase was one of three West Indies batters to reach double figures in their poor batting display

Australia chose to bowl first in the series finale, restricting West Indies to a low score of 86. Despite a promising 36-2 in the first powerplay, the Windies struggled in the middle overs, with only Alick Athanaze, Keacy Carty, and Roston Chase reaching double figures in runs.

Xavier Bartlett extended his impressive start in international cricket, leading the Australian bowling attack with figures of 4-21. Lance Morris and Adam Zampa provided valuable support, each taking two wickets.

Australia is on the verge of securing a 3-0 series whitewash against the visitors, having emerged victorious in the initial two matches in Melbourne and Sydney.
