All-rounder Cameron Green is fit to play the third Test for Australia against India at the Holkar Stadium in Indore in the 2023 Border Gavaskar Trophy. With Pat Cummins unavailable for the third test, Green’s comeback will be a boost for the visitors. Australia is two down in the four-match series after losing the second Test by six wickets.

All-rounder Cameron Green missed the first two games owing to a finger injury. He practiced before the Delhi Test, but the team did not want to rush his comeback. However, Green is now raring to go against India in the Indore Test match. Speaking to reporters, the Australian cricketer said,

“I was so, so close last game but I think probably having an extra week has helped a lot, so I’m 100 percent ready to go. Reckon it’s just a few instances in the nets where I’d maybe go for a sweep and just jarred (the injured finger) on my bat.”

“I went for a sweep to a pretty new ball, just caught the very end of it, and had a bit of pain at the back of my finger, but apart from that it’s been really sweet the last two weeks, I’ve got a lot of confidence in it,” he added.

Bowling is going really well: Cameron Green

Cameron Green has represented Australia in 18 Tests, scoring 806 runs at an average of 35.04, with six fifties. He has also taken 23 wickets, with 5/27 as his best bowling figure. The all-rounder is set to return to the team after injury and is fit to bowl. Talking about his bowling, Cameron Green said,

“My bowling is actually going really well, I think we probably thought the ball on the back of the finger rolling off might be painful but that’s been completely fine. I had my first hit probably four or five days ago against the pace bowlers and felt completely fine.”
