AUSvIND : T20I series ends in draw

The third and deciding T20I between India and Australia in Hyderabad has been called off due to wet outfield. Hyderabad received lots of rain in the past week which made the groundsmen struggle and get ready for the match. It promised to be an exciting decider but outfield made it tough for the match to start on time.

It was an exciting T20I series between these two teams. In the first T20I at Ranchi, Indian bowlers did an excellent job restricting Australia to 118. India was given a target of 48 runs to chase in 6 overs and India reached the target with 3 balls to spare. Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah were the picks of bowlers with 2 wickets each. The left arm Chinamen was named as man of the match.

In the second match at Guwahati, Jason Behrendoff broke the backbone of Indian batting line up and restricted the hosts to just 118. Despite losing 2 early wickets of Finch and Warner, the partnership of Henriques and Head ensured that Australia won the match with ease. Australia leveled the series at 1-1.

Jason Behrendoff picked 4 for 21 and took wickets of Rohit Sharma, Kohli, Manish Pandey and Shikhar Dhawan. The middle order of Indian team could not contribute much. Kedar Jadhav was the top scorer with 27, Hardik Pandya contributed with 25. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah bowled with great control in both matches.

In the second match, pitch helped fast bowlers and Behrendoff took advantage of it.  Both teams were looking to an exciting final but wet outfield did not allow the match to happen. The series ended at 1-1.

New Zealand arrived in India to play 3 ODI’s and 3 T20I’s from 22nd October.  Before this, they will play 2 warm-up matches.
