The Baroda Cricket Association has suspended all-rounder Deepak Hooda for the current domestic season for ‘indiscipline’ and “bringing disrespect to the game. It all had started when Deepak Hooda had withdrawn his name from the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament after a heated argument with the skipper of the side Krunal Pandya where he accused Krunal of threatening him and using abusive language.
The argument took place when both Krunal Pandya and Deepak Hooda were practicing at the Reliance Stadium in Vadodara, just a day prior to the start of the tournament. A decision taken by Hooda hasn’t gone too well with the Cricket Board since he left the bio bubble without informing the BCA.

Deepak Hooda Suspended By Baroda Cricket Association
The decision to suspend Deepak Hooda was taken at the BCA Apex council meeting where it was decided that Hooda who brought indiscipline and disrespect to the game won’t be considered for team selection in the ongoing domestic season.
“The apex council decided that Hooda won’t be considered to represent the Baroda team for the current domestic season. The decision was taken after considering reports from team manager and coach about the incident as well as communication with Hooda,” said Satyajit Gaekwad, chairman, BCA press and publicity committee.
BCA’s joint secretary felt the decision to suspend Deepak Hooda was unnecessary when he could’ve been reprimanded and then allowed to play after serving the punishment.
BCA joint secretary, Parag Patel said, “Hooda did the wrong thing by walking out of the team without discussing his issues with the management. But banning him for the entire season was unnecessary. He could have been reprimanded for his act and then allowed to play.”
