BCCI Announce Annual Payment Contracts For The 2022-23 Season

The Board of Cricket Control of India has announced the annual payment contracts for the Indian Men’s Team for the 2022-23 season on 26 March 2023.

The period for annual payment contracts falls under 3 sections. Grade A+ includes 7 Crore, Grade A includes 5 Crore, Grade B 3 Crore, and Grade C 1 Crore. This includes from October 2022 to September 2023.

Cricketers involved in the A+ section include Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja. They have performed brilliantly well in the season so far with Rohit Sharma doing well in the ODI series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Virat Kohli scored 2 centuries in the ODI series against Lanka and then a well-deserved century in the 4th Test against Australia at Ahmedabad.

Ravindra Jadeja made a strong comeback in the Test series against Australia where he was named the joint player of the series and has been promoted A+ category.  All these four players will earn 7 Crore from October 2022 to September 2023.

Grade A+ category

  1. Rohit Sharma
  2. Virat Kohli
  3. Jasprit Bumrah
  4. Ravindra Jadeja.

Grade A section includes Hardik Pandya, R Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Rishabh Pant, and Axar Patel. R Ashwin did a superb job in the Test series against Australia along with Axar Patel and Mohammed Shami.

Hardik Pandya looked impressive in the ODI series against Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia. Pant has featured in some matches but did not impress before the major accident survival. All these players will earn 5 Crore. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel moved to Grade A from Grade C and Grade B respectively.

Grade A category

3. Mohammed Shami

4. Risbabh Pant

5  Axar Patel

Grade B includes Cheteshwar Pujara, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shubman Gill. Mohammed Siraj performed decently in the home season including the ODI series against Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia. KL Rahul has been demoted B category. Shubman Gill has been promoted for his consistent performance. All these players will earn 3 Crore.

Team India given grand reception ahead of 2nd ODI

Grade B category

  1. Cheteshwar Pujara
  2. KL Rahul
  3. Shreyas Iyer
  4. Mohammed Siraj
  5. Suryakumar Yadav
  6. Shubman Gill

The final category includes Grade C with players like Umesh Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Shardul Thakur, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, KS Bharat. All these players will earn 1 Crore.

Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Sanju Samson, and Arshdeep Singh were given central contracts for the first time. Shardul Thakur has been demoted to the Grade C category.

  4. Shardul Thakur
  5. Deepak Hooda
  6. Yuzvendra Chahal
  7. Kuldeep Yadav
  8. Washington Sundar
  9. Sanju Samson

  11. K Bharat

Ajiyanka Rahane and Ishant Sharma have not been included in the annual contract list as they were given Grade B contracts last season. Wriddihman Saha, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hanuma Vihari, Mayank Agarwal, and Deepak Chahar have been removed from the contracts list. These four were awarded Grade C contracts.
