BCCI Announce Indian Women Squad For England Series

The BCCI selection committee earlier announced the India women senior team squad for their upcoming series against England. The Indian eves play one Test, three ODIs and three T20Is in England. The squad will fly with the men’s team on June 2, with the first of the seven games, a one-off Test match, starting in Bristol on June 16. The Test match will be the first one in seven years for the team.

The upcoming series will be the first for Ramesh Powar who was reappointed as the head coach of the Indian women’s cricket team. he replaced WV Raman, who was appointed the head coach of the India women’s team in December 2018.

During Raman’s tenure, India managed to reach the finals of the T20 World Cup 2020. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side ended up losing the summit clash against Australia. Meanwhile, Ramesh Powar’s experience as an India international and his vast experience in playing domestic cricket has helped him in getting appointed for the role.
