BCCI announced India A team for the tour down under in Australia: The India A team is scheduled to tour Australia for a quadrangular One-Day series and four-day games in August. The BCCI has announced the squad for the same and wicketkeeper-batsman Naman Ojha will be lead the side with the batting legend, Rahul Dravid mentoring the young troops. The quadrangular one-day series will feature South Africa A, Australia A, and Australia”s National Performance Squad (NPS).
India will start the 49 days long tour with a One-Day game against Australia A on August 14 after the quadrangular series kicks off with South Africa A taking on NPS a day before. The two four-day matches between India A and Australia A that will follow after the One-Day series will start from September 8 and run until September 18. This will be played at the Allan Border field in Brisbane.
Nine players that were part of India’s squad in the recently concluded limited-overs series against Zimbabwe have been named in the 15-man India ‘A’ squad. Two youngsters, Vijay Shankar of Tamil Nadu and Akhil Herwadkar of Mumbai have been given surprise call-ups to the squad.
There will be two finals played after the round-robin to decide positions of the four teams. 1st Ranked Team will be the second. Third placed team will play the fourth in the table.
