Indian team manager Sunil Subramaniam has been called back by the BCCI immediately due to his alleged misbehaviour. According to the reports from PTI, he has been asked to report at the earliest on grounds of indiscipline. He is currently with the Indian team for the all-format Carribean tour.
A senior BCCI official said that he wasn”t on the same grounds with the high commission at the Carribean islands. The officials wanted to shoot an advertisement with the Indian cricket team, for which Sunil was the single point of contact. But, Sunil wasn”t very keen on providing a proper response to them.
“When a very senior person from Indian High Commission in Trinidad & Tobago called up Subramanium seeking his co-operation, he told him “Don”t flood me with messages”. The BCCI has come to know that he refused to entertain their calls when all they were doing was to carry out the government”s directive,” the senior BCCI official said.
The BCCI and CoA aren”t happy with his behaviour and is all set to part ways with him. Reports further suggest that the management isn”t happy with his role in overseas tours of Australia and England too.
Sunil currently under extension
The members of the team management are currently under a 45-extension from the BCCI. The board has already received a lot of applications to fill the posts ahead of the Proteas tour. It will be interesting if Sunil Subramaniam will be considered for another tenure after these hassles.
There hasn”t been any clue on the appointment of interim manager yet.
