The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also announced on Saturday that Shreyas Iyer is also travelling to the UK for his back surgery. Rajat Patidar will receive treatment in England.
The BCCI announced that it would cover every cost associated with Patidar’s left heel surgery, which has forced him to withdraw from the entire IPL 2023.
“Even though Patidar is not a player under central contract, the BCCI will send him for surgery. He is one of the targeted athletes, and we will make sure he receives the best care, according to a BCCI official.
Patidar (29), who played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL playoffs last year, burst onto the national scene with a daring century and some outstanding domestic cricket performances that followed.
Prior to being sent for surgery, he was undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He is currently awaiting his visa documents at home in Indore before travelling to the UK for treatment.

However, BCCI gives an exclusive statement that Iyer will undergo surgery the next week. “Mr Shreyas Iyer will have surgery for his lower back problem next week.
After two weeks of care from the surgeon, he will return to the NCA for rehabilitation, according to a BCCI statement released on Saturday.
The BCCI also provided an update on Jasprit Bumrah, who has already finished his surgical care and has begun his rehabilitation at NCA as of this past Friday.
“Mr Jasprit Bumrah had successful lower back surgery in New Zealand, and he has been pain-free ever since. The fast bowler was instructed by the specialist to begin his rehabilitation six weeks after surgery, and as a result, Mr Bumrah started his rehab management at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru on Friday. Bumrah will most likely be prepared for the 50-over World Cup in October-November.
