On 15th August, MS Dhoni officially announced his retirement from international cricket. Dhoni took to Instagram and posted an emotional video which showed his entire cricketing journey. The celebrated cricketer is arguably the most influential cricketer India has ever produced.
Dhoni played his last international match in the World Cup semi-finals semifinals against New Zealand last year. Even though the news of Dhoni retiring was inevitable but still his millions of fans were stunned after the decision. The fans wanted to see the last glimpses of their idol in Indian colours in his grand farewell match.
Will BCCI arrange a farewell match for MS Dhoni?
Now according to reports and BCCI sources, there are plans that the Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) are contemplating holding a goodbye match for MS Dhoni. The match might take place after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League on November 10.
The appeal for a farewell game for MS Dhoni has come from the most important government levels. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren also raised that a farewell game should happen for Dhoni at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association stadium in his hometown of Ranchi.
Meanwhile, MS Dhoni is the only captain in history to hold all the major ICC trophies. Dhoni as skipper won the 2007 T20 world cup, 2011 Cricket world cup, 2013 Champions trophy and also took the Indian team to the pinnacle of Test match rankings for the very first time.
The legendary cricketer is currently in Chennai preparing for the upcoming IPL season. He will be leading the Chennai Super Kings franchise in IPL 2020 which will kick off from September 19 in the United Arab Emirates. Dhoni has already led the CSK franchise to three IPL titles and will be hoping to make it 4 this year as fans are eager to see him return on the field again.
