A three-member committee has been formed to prevent similar incidents in the future. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia will head the committee, with treasurer Prabhtej Singh Bhatia and vice-president Rajeev Shukla serving as members.
The panel has been directed to draft safety guidelines within 15 days. The stampede occurred just a day after Royal Challengers Bengaluru clinched their maiden IPL title. In response, RCB has pledged Rs 10 lakh in financial assistance to each bereaved family.
