“Begaani Shadi Mein Abdulla Deewana” – Irfan Pathan Indirectly Criticizes Pakistan With His Social Media Post

Ex-Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan recently posted a mysterious message on social media, seemingly mocking Pakistan supporters by implying their celebrations were baseless. Although Pathan didn’t explicitly state the motive behind his tweet, numerous fans believed that he was taunting Pakistani fans who were rejoicing over India’s defeat in the T20I series against West Indies on Sunday.

Pathan wrote on X:

“Begaani Shadi mein Abdulla deewana… #sunday #padosi.”

It’s worth mentioning that Irfan Pathan has frequently made indirect remarks about Pakistan. He had also posted a similar message on social media after India’s loss to Australia in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC 2023) final earlier this year.

Meanwhile, under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, the Indian team faced a defeat in the fifth T20I when West Indies successfully pursued the goal of 166 runs in 18 overs, Achieving a 3-2 win in the five-game series.

After the conclusive victory of West Indies in the recently concluded fifth T20I, Irfan Pathan posted on social media to extend his congratulations to the West Indies team for their series triumph.

Nonetheless, the 38-year-old asserted that India needs to tackle certain concerns, indicating that being defeated by a team with a lower ranking was a cause for concern. Pathan wrote:

“Congratulations to the West Indies team on a well-deserved series win! Team India must reflect on this defeat, as losing to a lower-ranked team is indeed worrisome.”

It’s important to note that although India suffered a loss in the T20I series, they emerged victorious in the Test (1-0) and ODI (2-1) series earlier during the tour. This marks the first time in 17 years that India has lost a series (comprising a minimum of three matches) to the West Indies.

The Indian cricket team’s upcoming engagement is a three-match T20I series against Ireland. For this tour, the selectors have chosen a less experienced squad, with the rejoining Jasprit Bumrah taking on the captaincy role. The first match is set for August 18, with all three games of the series to be held in Dublin.
