“Bhuvneshwar Kumar Swinging The Ball & Picking Early Wickets Is A Huge Plus” – Parthiv Patel

The resurrection of Team India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has certainly been the talk of the town. And thee former Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel too has joined the discussion.

Patel recently stated that Kumar’s form with the ball was the biggest positive for India from their most recent 5-match T20 International series against South Africa.

The 32-year-old Indian pacer picked up 6 wickets in 4 innings, at a reasonable economy of 6.07. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was seen swinging the ball and bowling some really tight spells. He aided the Indian side to come back in the series after being pulled back by the visitors.

Kumar has done an excellent job of carrying his IPL 2022 momentum into the South Africa series, Parthiv Patel believes. Patel, talking about Kumar’s form so far, stated:

“Bhuvneshwar improved along the IPL and he replicated that in this series (against South Africa). Along with his experience, if you bowl well then it is a huge thing in a big tournament. So I think Bhuvneshwar swinging the ball and picking early wickets is a huge plus from this series.”

We should never judge Bhuvneshwar by his numbers – Parthiv Patel

Although Bhuvneshwar Kumar conceded 43 runs in the first T20I against South Africa, it shouldn’t be considered a poor bowling effort, believes Patel. Furthermore, Patel said that Kumar should be judged on the amount of swing he generates while bowling. Patel quoted:

“Like in batting you need to know when to play what shot and what the demands of the team are, similar is the case with bowling. Despite having so many options, you need to know what your strength is.

“Bhuvneshwar bowled really well in the first game although the figures show 1/43. We should never judge Bhuvneshwar by his numbers, we see whether he is swinging the ball and how it is coming out from his hand.”
