Not many of us would have predicted that Jasprit Bumrah would create such rapid strides in International Cricket. It all started back in 2016 when he was given an opportunity during the Australian tour. Now, he is the top-ranked bowler in the ODI format of the game.
As days progressed, he kept improving his wicket-taking abilities that reaped rewards for the Indian side. The 26-year old already has over 200 scalps combined across all formats of the game at a healthy average.
Formers kept taking a dig at him for his action which would end up in an issue. Keeping his focus on the game, Bumrah was absolutely unfazed by those irrelevant statements and continued his golden run.
The moment when he had an injury scare during the IPL 2019, the entire crowd had dull faces. This is enough to say how vital he was for the Indian World Cup preparations. Death bowling and Bumrah are now synonyms for a lot of fans around the world and his efforts behind the same couldn”t be discounted.
Bumrah and Whites
He made it to the Test side during 2018 January for the Proteas tour. While several critics doubted that his style would be suited only for limited-overs, he made sure to silence them with his spells. His golden run continued even in England and Australia thus bagging five-wicket-hauls during each tour.
After a remarkable Carribean tour, Bumrah achieved a new high in the Test rankings too. Being at the fifth spot currently, he will be looking for creating havoc during the Kiwis tour next year.
Indian cricket is currently taking a new shape in World sports. Needless to say that Bumrah is one of the chief architects to take the game forward. Who knows, his records might inspire a lot of youngsters to take up this game.
For a very bright future ahead, Birthday wishes Bumrah from all of us at Cricfit.
