Australia’s new age all-rounder Cameron Green who made his debut in the ongoing series has taken social media by a storm with people now wanting the young all-rounder from Western Australia to play in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the 132 ball knock of Green, he blasted off to 84 runs which included eight boundaries and four sixes.

Cameron Green debuted in the third ODI against India played at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. Though Green didn’t have the most memorable debut as he scored just 21 and went wicketless in addition to Australia losing the game by 13 runs, he was picked for the all-rounders’ role ahead of Mitchell Marsh after an impressive season for Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield.

Cameron Green Quick Fire Knock Of 84 Helped Australia Surpass The Lead Of 400 runs

The young 21 year old made his Test debut at the Adelaide Oval In the Pink Ball Test against India where just like his ODI debut, neither did he manage to pick up a wicket or register a high score. Now, in the Third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground when Australia were nicely poised with a good lead on board, Cameron Green walked with only one intention and that was to get as many runs on the board as possible so Australia could pounce on an early declaration putting India to bat in the late hours of Day 4.

Cameron Green walked in when Australia were 148/4 ended up taking the score to 312/6 which included a 104 run partnership with the skipper of the side Tim Paine. As soon as Green was dismissed caught behind off by Jasprit Bumrah, Tim Paine declared the innings with a massive 407 lead on the board.

Another controversy that kicked in during Cameron Green and Tim Paine’s 104 run partnership was of Mohammed Siraj who complained about racial abuse from the SCG stands. Siraj was quick to notify skipper Ajinkya Rahane and on-field umpires. A group of four boys and a couple were then removed from the stands with the help of Police. After which Cricket Australia released an official statement post the racial abuse against Mohammed Siraj.

Regardless of the controversy, Cameron Green didn’t fail to impress the viewers as few of them went on to Tweet how Cameron Green should soon be in line for an IPL contract.
