
On Sunday, September 21, Abhishek Sharma’s sister, Komal Sharma, shared a photo on social media showing her on a video call with her brother and India’s T20I vice-captain, Shubman Gill. The pair are set to play later that day as India face arch-rivals Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 match in Dubai. Komal posted the moment on her Instagram stories with the caption:
“Chats with my Kiddos >> best part of my day.”
Meanwhile, India finished at the top of Group A, winning all three of their matches against the UAE, Pakistan, and Oman. While Abhishek Sharma has provided brisk starts for the Men in Blue, Shubman Gill has struggled to deliver up to expectations in the tournament so far.
Across the three games, Abhishek has scored 99 runs at an average of 33, striking at 225.00, with a highest score of 38, including 11 fours and seven sixes. In comparison, Shubman Gill has managed just 35 runs in three innings, averaging 17.50 with a strike rate of 145.83.
India Thrash Pakistan By 7 Wickets In Group Stage Clash
As India kick off their Super 4s campaign against Pakistan, they will aim to build on the confidence from their earlier group-stage encounter. The teams met in the sixth game of the tournament on Sunday, September 14, in Dubai. Batting first, Pakistan struggled to post a modest total of 127/9 in 20 overs.
Kuldeep Yadav spearheaded India’s bowling attack with impressive figures of 3/18 in four overs, while Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets each. In response, Abhishek Sharma provided a quick start, scoring 31 off 13 balls. In the middle order, Tilak Varma added a run-a-ball 31, and captain Suryakumar Yadav remained unbeaten on 47 off 37 balls, striking five fours and a six.
Their efforts helped India secure a seven-wicket win with 25 balls to spare.
