Chetan Sharma Opens Up On The Careers Of Sanju Samson And KL Rahul

The  Chief selector of the Board for Cricket of India, Chetan Sharma, told that Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan have put the careers of Sanju Samson and KL Rahul in jeopardy.

During recent sting operations done on 15 February, Chetan Sharma revealed that Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan’s performances have put the careers of Sanju Samson, KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan in massive trouble.

Kishan produced a brilliant double century in the third One-day international match against Bangladesh on 10 December 2022. During that sensational knock, the left-handed batter made 210 off 126 deliveries. He was eventually dismissed for 210 off 131 balls which included 24 fours and 10 sixes. Kishan became the fourth Indian to hit a double century in One-day international cricket.

Shubman Gill’s performance in January 2023 against Sri Lanka and New Zealand showed his emergence as a powerful white ball cricketer. For his consistent performances in January, Gill was awarded the ICC Player of the month for January.

Gill produced some brilliant knocks in the home ODI series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand. He scored 70, 21 and 116 in the 3-match ODI series against the Lankan lions. Gill became the fifth Indian batter to hit a double century in ODI cricket.

Chetan Sharma’s comments on Indian cricket made headlines

He produced a sensational knock in the first ODI match at Hyderabad with 208. After that brilliant knock, Gill scored an unbeaten 40 in Raipur and then followed with 112 in the third and final One-day international at Indore.

He was named the player of the series for his 360 runs in 3 matches and also equalled Babar Azam with the most number of runs during 3 series. He struggled in the first T20 matches before scoring his maiden T20I century in deciding a match at Ahmedabad. It was a sensational knock by Gill scoring an unbeaten 126 off 63 balls and helping India seal the series.

Shubman Gill has shown tremendous consistency in white-ball cricket. He was dropped from playing XI from the 1st Test at Nagpur and is likely to sit down in the 2nd Test also.

Sanju Samson has failed to capitalize on the chances that he has got while KL Rahul has been recently removed from white ball vice-captaincy. Dhawan has been removed from India’s team across all three formats.
