“Cheteshwar Pujara Is A Warrior”- Mohammed Siraj Showers Praise On Senior Teammate
Cheteshwar Pujara Mohammed Siraj

The Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj recently praised his fellow cricketer and India’s Test proficient Cheteshwar Pujara, after he scored a fifty in the second innings of the ongoing Test derby against England.

Pujara, who was dropped from the squad after the India tour of South Africa earlier this year, made a strong comeback via his County supremacy during the last couple of months. The 34-year-old scored 720 runs for Sussex and earned his spot back, once again.

Siraj, while, finished his spell with 4 English wickets in his account and aided India in starting the second innings with a lead of more than 130 runs. Pujara then, coming in as an opener, stayed firm in the crease and hit an unbeaten half-century, by the end of Day 3. Lauding his contribution, Siraj said that, Pujara is a warrior and has been there for the team, whenever a tough situation arises.

Siraj was speaking in a press conference after the end of the play on Day 3. He said: “He (Pujara) is a warrior. In Australia, he did it, and here also, he is doing the job. Whenever the team requires, he always stands up. When a tough situation arises, he is always there to do the job. Exactly, bowling to him is difficult. He does not attack much and just keeps on leaving balls, so that can get irritating in the nets.”

Bumrah has been the same, as a player and as a captain – Siraj

Furthermore, Siraj also went on to praise the newest Indian skipper Jasprit Bumrah. He emphasized that Bumrah has been the same, as a player and as a captain. Moreover, he added that he (Bumrah) has always been supportive and is always there to help him out.

Siraj added: “As a player and as a captain, he (Bumrah) has been the same. He is always supportive and is always there to help me out. Whenever I do wrong, he tries to make me understand what to bowl in certain situations.”
