Chris Gayle plans retirement after this series; full details here

Destructive Caribbean batsman Chris Gayle has announced that he will be playing the home series against India after the World Cup. It is to be noted that a few months ago, he mentioned that he will be retiring from the gentleman”s game right after the World tournament. Now, Gayle has made up his mind to play the home series.

In a recent press conference ahead of the game against India tomorrow, Gayle said that ” I will be playing one test match may be versus India. I will certainly play the ODI series, but not the T20I series”. This video is currently trending in social media and few fans are enthusiastic about the return of the universe boss.

Gayle played the limited overs series against England at home a few months ago. He ended up bagging the Man of the Series award alongside a memorable series victory. The media manager of the West Indies side Philip Spooner has given a clue that this India series will be his last. He said “Yes, Chris will play his last series against India. Earlier, Chris Gayle had confirmed that he will retire after the World Cup but the legendary figure like him deserves a farewell series.”

Gayle has been one of the modern day greats who could destroy any opponent on his day. He scored close to 20,000 international runs across all formats and represented several leagues across the globe. Gayle will now play three of his last World Cup games with the first one against India tomorrow. Will he trouble the opposition?
