Their win against Delhi Capitals was also a narrow one by just one run.

Meanwhile, after the game, Chris Gayle and Yuzvendra Chahal posted shirtless pictures of themselves. The Punjab Kings Twitter handle shared the picture with a caption “If we have to summarize #PBKSvRCB.” RCB were totally outplayed by Punjab Kings on the field. First, they got to a matchwinning score of 179 and then their spinners Harpreet Brar and Ravi Bishnoi spun a web around their batsmen.

Brar took the wickets of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and AB De Villiers to break the backbone of the RCB chase. In the end, they fell short by 34 runs. This was Punjab’s third consecutive win over RCB after beating the side twice in the IPL 2020. Meanwhile, RCB has not been able to dismiss KL Rahul as well since the last IPL.

Harpreet Brar won the Man of the Match for his matchwinning spell of 3/14. Punjab skipper KL Rahul lauded the youngster’s performance and said that they were preparing Brar for the big contest.

“We were preparing Brar. On a pitch like this, we felt like we needed a finger spinner who could hit hard lengths. He did exactly that and batted really well in the end as well. I am young myself, but I have been trying to speak to the boys and pass on whatever experience I have of IPL and international cricket,” Rahul said.

Punjab face Delhi Capitals and RCB again before they move to Banglore for their final five games of the league stage.
