Star batsman from Australia, Chris Lynn shifted his base from Kolkata to Mumbai for the 13th edition of Indian Premier League. However, former India cricketer and popular commentator Sanjay Manjrekar feels Lynn will not get a single game for the defending champions Mumbai Indians.
Meanwhile, Lynn has been going through a rough patch with the bat. He witnessed a terrible time in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League. The 30-year-old had a terrible run with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in CPL 2020 by scoring just 138 runs in nine matches at a poor average of 17.25.
Lynn will not a single game in IPL 2020 – Manjrekar
Sanjay Manjrekar in a recent chat with Ashish Nehra pointed that Mumbai will have their toes on their feet after watch Chris Lynn’s return in CPL 2020. The Rohit Sharma-led side has had problems with their top-order and wanted a solution in Lynn.
“First thing is that just because his CPL has not gone well, it is not necessary that his IPL will also not be good. But had the CPL been good, his confidence would have been high, and he would have got more opportunities,” Nehra told Star Sports.
However, Ashish Nehra feels that the Aussie can turn the table if given an opportunity. On the other hand, Sanjay Manjrekar believes Chris Lynn will not a single game in IPL 2020 in the UAE. The former cricketer is of the opinion that with the presence of Quinton de Kock and Ishan Kishan, Lynn will find it difficult to breakthrough.
“I feel Chris Lynn may not get a game for the Mumbai Indians because they have Quinton de Kock and Ishan Kishan in the team,” Manjrekar said.
The four-time champions will begin their camp against Chennai Super Kings on September 19 at the Dubai International Stadium. It will be a massive task for the side to defend their title and we will find the answer in the next three days.
