The pandemic coronavirus has halted the smooth running of human lives, forcing to stop many global events across the globe including many sporting events. There has been lockdown in various places with people staying indoors to fight the virus. The COVID-19 has also killed many making it look disastrous.

According to the World Health Organisation(WHO), there is 2,67.013, confirmed cases of coronavirus, with a death toll of 11201. More than 185 countries have been affected by COVID-19 which can spread rapidly in the coming days. The virus has left its mark in India as well with almost 400 cases reported and a death toll of 7.

Meanwhile, the India-South Africa series which consisted of three One-Day Internationals was called off due to the outbreak. The first ODI on March 12 in Dharamsala was a complete washout due to inclement weather. The second and the third ODI which was slated to take place in Lucknow and Kolkata on March 15 and 18 was called amid coronavirus pandemic.

The entire South African side travelled back to their country via Kolkata. And now if reports are to believed, the likes of Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis’ among others stayed in the same hotel like that of singer Kanika Kapoor, who was tested positive for COVID-19. Kanika tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday and was staying in Lucknow since March 11.

“There are reports that she dined in the hotel’s buffet and also attended several guests in the lobby,” an official was quoted as saying by The Times of India on Sunday.

The South African cricketers have also self-isolate themselves for 14 days upon reaching country. So far, there is no news of any cricketer being tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
