In the 3rd Week of the inaugural edition of the Cricfit Premier League (CPL) we had the VK Krishna Menon Academy taking on the Yuva Arjun Cricket Academy at the Thakur Cricket Stadium in Kandivali where a brilliant show with the ball helped VK Krishna Menon Academy avenge the Yuva Arjun Cricket Academy ultimately winning the match by 27 runs.
It all started at the toss as VK Krishna Menon Academy won the toss and elected to bat first. Opening batsman Aarav Malhotra was dismissed on the final ball of the first over off the bowling of Devam Parekh giving the Yuva Arjun Cricket Academy an early breakthrough.
Followed by which wickets kept falling at the other end as Tanish Katira held his fort to score a crucial knock of 47 runs which helped them reach a respectable total of 139 at the end of 20 overs. Devam Parekh was the standout bowler from the Yuva Arjun Cricket Academy for his 3 over spell where he picked up 2 wickets at the cost of 11 runs.

In return, Yuva Arjun Cricket Academy batsman never really got into the game right from the start as their innings started with Pratik Luharuka losing his wicket in the first over of the innings. It was just Yashash Ganiga who looked to get the scoreboard moving but in the end, couldn’t take his side across the finishing line as, despite a well-fought 33, none of the batsmen got going which resulted in them getting all out for 112 losing the match by 27 runs.
