CPL 2023: Fabian Allen Unleashes Memorable Celebration Following Wicket In CPL

In the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) eliminator, Fabian Allen showcased his exceptional skills and made a significant impact for the Jamaica Tallawahs (JT). The versatile all-rounder delivered a brilliant bowling performance, securing four crucial wickets while conceding only 25 runs in his allotted four overs.

His exceptional spell proved to be a game-changer, restricting the St. Lucia Kings (SLK) to a meager total of 125-9 within their 20 overs. Allen’s scalps included key SLK batsmen Roston Chase, Sikandar Raza, Roshon Primus, and Matthew Forde.

Allen’s remarkable display with the ball effectively dismantled the SLK batting lineup, preventing them from posting a competitive total. Unfortunately for SLK, their batters struggled to find momentum, failing to capitalize on their starts. Roston Chase emerged as their top scorer with 40 runs off 36 deliveries, featuring four boundaries and one six.

Here’s the Celebration:

Fabian Allen had previously demonstrated his worth in the CPL, consistently contributing with both bat and ball. He had even earned a contract in the prestigious Indian Premier League (IPL) and represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a few matches.

In the second innings, the JT began their chase with a solid start as Brandon King aggressively scored 30 runs off 19 balls, including three fours and two sixes. Alex Hales added 24 runs off 17 deliveries, featuring three fours and one six. However, a brief middle-order collapse followed after the openers’ dismissals. Steven Taylor and Shamarh Brooks both departed for minimal scores.

Raymon Reifer emerged as the hero for JT, delivering an unbeaten 30 runs off 32 balls, including one four and one six, guiding his team to victory.

Despite Matthew Forde’s impressive four-wicket haul, taking 4-23 in his four overs for SLK in the second innings, it wasn’t sufficient as JT secured a comfortable 5-wicket win with 16 balls to spare. With this victory, SLK concluded their CPL campaign, while JT advanced to the second qualifier. They are now set to face either the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) or the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in qualifier 1, scheduled for September 21.
