Mumbai Indians openers Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock gave their team a flying start. The fast bowlers of CSK were expensive in the first powerplay and needed quick wickets.

Piyush Chawla did just that as he dismissed Rohit Sharma for 12 when he looking to take the game away from CSK. In the next over itself, de Kock was also sent packing as CSK picked two quick wickets.

Then the pair of Saurabh Tiwary and Surya Kumar Yadav started consolidating the MI inning. However, MI again lost a big blow when Yadav tried hitting Deepak Chahar over long-on and was caught at the boundary rope.

In walked the exciting Hardik Pandya to the crease at number 5. CSK skipper MS Dhoni introduced Jadeja against Pandya and tried getting some cheap overs. Jadeja kept Pandya quite initially as he bowled 3 consecutive dot balls to him.

Come the 4th ball Pandya had already made his mind and executed a slog sweep and opened his account with a six. The all-rounder wasn’t done as immediately the next ball he again pulled a short ball from Jadeja for a huge six. Pandya announced his arrival in IPL 2020 with back to back sixes against his Indian teammate Ravindra Jadeja.

Meanwhile, Jadeja, in the end, dismissed Hardik courtesy off a brilliant catch from Faf du Plessis at the long-off boundary rope. Hardik made 14 in 10 deliveries in which he hit two massive sixes. The pitch at Abu Dhabi looks to be on the slower side as spinners are getting assistance. Two MI spinners Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya will be looking to pick key wickets in the CSK run chase.

Furthermore, the defending champions are eyeing a total of around 175 in 20 overs. After a disappointing start, the CSK bowlers stormed back into the contest and looking to restrict MI to a respectable total and chase it down when it’s there turn to bat.
