Hard-hitting Australian T20 specialist Chris Lynn has recently joined the Mumbai Indians franchise after rendering his service in the CPL 2020. He was roped in by the franchise for 2 crores in IPL 2020 auction after Kolkata Knight Riders decided to pat ways with the Aussie. Upon joining, he has hailed Rohit Sharma‘s prowess as a batsman and has hailed his contribution for the defending champions.

Speaking via MI’s Twitter handle, he said, “Rohit, what a world-class player! Runs on the board… On and off the field what he’s contributed to Mumbai is something really really special.”

Chris Lynn further praised his MI teammate Quinton de Kock saying that he has been outstanding with the bat and gloves for MI. “Quinny has been outstanding with the gloves and the bat in hand,” he added.

Honour to  Play For Mumbai Indians- Chris Lynn

The former KKR player Chris Lynn has said that its an honour playing in the IPL and playing for the defending champions. He further said that he is ready to bat anywhere for the team.

Meanwhile former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar that Chris Lynn is unlikely to feature in any of the matches for the defending champions. Lynn has played for two franchises in the past, namely Deccan Chargers (2012) and KKR (2014-2019).

This is the second time that the IPL is being played in the UAE. It was first held in 2014, when KKR went on to win the title under Gautam Gambhir. Earlier, the BCCI had to shift the tournament out of India after the country-wide fear of coronavirus.

On a personal note Chris Lynn has tasted recent success in the UAE in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. He top-scored in the tournament with 371 from just 8 games at an average of 53.00 and a strike rate touching nearly 240.
