West Indies ready to tour England for a Test series
“Cricket West Indies received and reviewed detailed plans for players and staff to be kept in the bio-secure environment for the duration of the tour, with all matches being played ‘behind closed doors’,” they said in a statement on Friday.
The CWI in their statement said they will now seek permission from national governments in the Caribbean for the tour. To facilitate the movement of players and staff the approval of governments is necessary.
They will also use private charter planes and conduct various medical screenings and COVI-19 testing for all the members. The CWI also added that they will be continuously in touch with the England and Wales Cricket Board, while they wait for the final approval from the UK government.
A couple of months ago it seemed impossible that we will not see any cricket happening in England this year. But now with the tour of West Indies looking almost certain, chances of Pakistan touring them in August also looks promising.
