Sarfaraz Khan, one of the standout performers in the Ranji Trophy, has recently tied the knot in a ceremony held in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.
However, he is recognized as a key player for the Delhi Capitals franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and represents Mumbai in India’s first-class cricket. Sarfaraz has often found himself in the spotlight for various reasons, including his remarks aimed at selectors after being omitted from the Test series during India’s tour of the West Indies.
The local media extensively covered his wedding, and reports from local reporters suggest that it was a joyous occasion. Despite his non-selection, Sarfaraz addressed questions regarding his prospects, expressing his belief that “If the Almighty has destined, I will play for India one day.”

Impressively, Sarfaraz Khan has been on a remarkable streak, amassing 556 runs across just 6 matches in the Ranji Trophy. While his performance hinted at a potential call-up to the national team, inside sources hinted to PTI that his omission may be attributed to fitness concerns.
As the new season kicks off, Sarfaraz aims to make a strong impression and continue his quest for selection in the Indian squad. He’s also likely to focus on enhancing his skills in limited-overs cricket. This involves capitalizing on opportunities presented in the IPL, following in the footsteps of promising talents like Tilak Varma and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Both players made noteworthy debuts in the T20 and Test formats respectively.
Tilak made a crucial half-century during his second match, providing much-needed support when India was in a tight spot. Similarly, Jaiswal emerged as the top run-scorer in the Test series, achieving an impressive 171 runs in the first innings and breaking multiple records along the way as well.
