CWC19: Australia Adds Two Star Players As “Injury Cover” Ahead Of Semi-Final

The Kangaroos failed to make an impact by a margin of 10 runs in their final group stage game against the Proteas. A century stand by Warner and Alex Carey wasn”t enough to take the side home as the lower order crumbled during the final overs. However, a couple of injury concerns have left Aussies thinking.

Usman Khawaja and Marcus Stoinis have been injured as per the latest reports. It is to be noted that Khawaja was retired hurt yesterday due to a hamstring injury. He left the crease in early overs as he was struggling with the same.

On the other hand, Marcus Stoinis seemed to have sustained a side strain during the game. Medical reports regarding their injuries are awaited and a final call is yet to be taken.

As a precautionary measure, Mathew Wade and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh have been included in the side. Both the players are readily available with the Australian A side which is playing in the United Kingdom and they will join the side soon.

Wade has been known for his brilliant performances in recent times in the domestic formats. He was known for middling the ball well and it will be interesting if he could make into the playing XI.

Due to the loss yesterday, Australian side have to settle at the second slot in the points table. They will now face England in the semifinals at Edgbaston on Thursday. A blockbuster of a game is on the cards and experts have started terming that the Ashes has already begun.
