Indian skipper Virat Kohli will be on paternity leave for the final three Tests owing to the birth of his first child. Meanwhile, Australian opener David Warner has reacted to the same. Warner himself will be making a comeback to the Australian Test squad after the infamous sandpaper gate scandal which saw him banned from cricket for 12 months.
Warner also kept his views on Ajinkya Rahane and his captaincy. Rahane did not have a good IPL with Delhi Capitals. However, he would like to get back into form and score some runs. In Kohli and Rohit’s absence, he and Cheteshwar Pujara becomes India’s two most crucial batsmen in the series.
“He’s calm and very measured in his approach. He’s got a very good cricket brain. It’s like chalk and cheese with them two (Kolhi and Rahane) and as a player to try and engage him on the field, as we’re talking about engaging, and getting into that contest as players, it’s obviously lots to think about how to do that especially with Ajinkya as captain” David Warner said.
Meanwhile, chances of Rohit Sharma playing the Test series has lessened by a fresh report from Mumbai Mirror. This also means that Ajinkya Rahane will lead Team India in the final three Test matches.

David Warner Reacts To Virat Kohli’s Paternity Leave
In interaction with a small media gathering, the left-hander shared his thoughts on Kohli’s parental leave. David Warner, who is himself a father of three understands what it feels to be a father for the first time and thus is totally in support of Kohli’s all to return home.
“Well done to him to go home and be by his partner’s side for his first child.” said the Australian opener congratulating Virat on his fatherhood.
David Warner concluded saying that despite Kohli’s absence India has a few good players who are capable of leading the team and with Ajinkya Rahane, there is just a bit more composure that he brings to the team.
“The great thing from India’s perspective is that you’ve got three if not four very good players who could captain the team at any time. With him, he’ll bring a calm and measured approach with his nature,” he further said.
India thus will be missing Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma for the Test series which gives Australia a very good chance of winning the series.
