Delhi Capitals achieved a convincing victory against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara on Saturday, winning the match by seven wickets. This victory gave Bengaluru their first loss in the WPL 2026 season while showing that Delhi has improved their performance in the tournament.

Bengaluru’s batting lineup struggled significantly, collapsing to just 109 runs when batting first. Delhi’s bowlers successfully implemented their strategies to limit their opponents’ scoring to a low total. Delhi achieved their target with ease under the confident leadership of Jemimah Rodrigues, who demonstrated their batting strength and strategic control over the match. The Women’s Premier League match showed Delhi’s strong capacity to compete against other teams through their complete victory.

Delhi Capitals Women beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women by 7 wickets

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s WPL 2026 campaign suffered its first setback as Delhi Capitals cruised to a seven-wicket victory at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara on Saturday. Bengaluru lost their opening match after they scored only 109 runs from their first innings, which started with a successful opening partnership.

Grace Harris and Smriti Mandhana built a reliable 36-run partnership, which Mandhana used to score 38 runs from 34 balls through six fours and one six. Mandhana’s exit in the tenth over caused the batting order to collapse because all remaining batsmen failed to reach 20 runs. Nandini Sharma took three wickets for Delhi, which led to his team success because Chinelle Henry and Marizanne Kapp combined for two wickets, which destroyed Bengaluru’s middle batting order.

Delhi’s chase started with disaster when Sayali Satghare eliminated both openers, Shafali Verma and Lizelle Lee, from the match. Laura Wolvaardt and captain Jemimah Rodrigues stabilized the innings with a crucial 52-run partnership for the third wicket. Wolvaardt scored 42 runs without losing his wicket, while Rodrigues added 24 runs. After the captain’s departure, Wolvaardt partnered with Marizanne Kapp, whose unbeaten 19 guided Delhi to a comfortable seven-wicket triumph.
