In the third ODI against Bangladesh, Ishan Kishan brought up his maiden century, which was then converted into a double century. Kishan came into the playing 11 replacing Rohit Sharma who was ruled out of the game due to an injury.Â
Kishan made full use of the opportunity that was given to him at the top of the order by scoring 210 at a strike rate of 160.31. The innings consisted of 24 fours and 10 sixes. He shattered several records today as he became the youngest batter as well as the fastest one to score a double century. He is also the fourth Indian to score a double century in ODIS.Â
The God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar was mighty impressed by Kishan’s wonderful batting today and congratulated him for his knock today via Twitter. He posted saying, “A fabulous knock! “I could have got 300 also” – Ishan Kishan
In the post-match interview with Sony Sports Network, Kishan said that he could have scored 300 as well if he batted through the innings.
“I got out with 15 overs left. I could have got 300 also,” Ishan said at the end of the game.
Apart from Kishan, Virat Kohli ended his drought in ODIS by scoring his 44th century in the format and his 72nd international one surpassing Aussie legend Ricky Ponting.
India went on to defeat Bangladesh by 227 runs in this game and the latter went on to win this series by a margin of 2-1. Ishan Kishan was named the player of the match and Mehidy Hasan Miraz was named the player of the series.
India will next face Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, starting in Chattogram on December 14.
