The left-arm fast bowler from Saurashtra was the highest wicket-taker in the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy season with 67 wickets in 10 matches in addition to leading his side to Ranji Trophy victory. Looking at his past record, Jaydev Unadkat deserved a chance in the squad but since the Indian team already possess the likes of Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav in the side, it becomes difficult for any fast bowler to make a case to feature in the Test squad.

Jaydev Unadkat has been the million-dollar baby in the IPL since last 2-3 years now. At the point of time, he was the costliest Indian player bought in the 2017 IPL auction. He has a reputation of bowling tight lines in domestic cricket and trapping the batsman in front of the wicket, also with the angle Unadkat brings in being a left-handed bowler he could’ve played a vital role in Australia which is why we feel he’s one of those deserving players to miss out from the test squad.
