Ex-India Selector’s Statement Has a Major Impact on Cheteshwar Pujara’s Future

Beginning on July 12, India will embark on a month-long tour of the West Indies. They will play two Test matches first, then three ODIs and five T20Is with a brand-new team captained by Hardik Pandya.

While the team will be hurt by another WTC final loss. There is a strong suspicion that the selection committee, led by Shiv Sunder Das. The head coach, Rahul Dravid, will consider some alternatives before the start of the next WTC cycle, which begins with the Caribbean series.

As of right now, Pujara and Umesh, who haven’t performed up to par for a while, appear to be the two weak links.

“You must find a balance. Selection is an elimination-based process. You need a balance of youth and experience.”

“The plan should be long-term, and right now you need to consider a two-year cycle.”

“Yashasvi Jaiswal is prepared for international cricket, in my opinion. In the Ranji, Irani, and Duleep Trophy, he has double-digit hundreds.”

Devang Gandhi, a former national selector, told PTI that the player “looks solid in terms of temperament and could be trained while being given enough opportunities to grow.”

The BCCI’s lack of an A Tour program since the tour of Bangladesh in December last year was criticized by another former national selector. Umesh is nearing the end of his career. But without an A tour schedule, it’s impossible to tell who else is prepared.

We once had Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, Hanuma Vihari, Mayank Agarwal, and Navdeep Saini ready through regular A tours and shadow series.

“At this point, you are ignorant.  The only other bowler I assume to be in the lineup is Mukesh Kumar. He is a seamer and not an express pacer, the selector said.
