Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) are two of the most prominent T20 leagues in the world. Both tournaments have over the past years, entertained the cricket fans with explosive batting, and thrilling action on offer.

Recently, the Pakistan Super League concluded its 2022 edition.  The Lahore Qalandars defeated the defending champions Multan Sultans, to win the elusive title. Meanwhile, the Indian Premier League locked March 26 as the opening date for its fifteenth season.

As India and Pakistan have been arch-rivals in world cricket, fans often compare the two T20 leagues. While, both leagues feature great players, and showcase brilliant T20 cricket action, there’s a massive gap in the prize money of the two tournaments.

The Lahore Qalandars, winner of the Pakistan Super League 2022 edition received PKR 80 million which is approximately INR 3.40 crore. On the other hand, the winner of the IPL 2022 will receive a whopping INR 20 crore.

Mohammad Hafeez powers Lahore Qalandars to maiden PSL title

Veteran cricketer Mohammad Hafeez’s brilliant all-round display powered the Lahore Qalandars their maiden Pakistan Super League title on Sunday at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

The Lahore Qalandars were in a spot of bother, after winning the toss. They lost their top three batters inside the powerplay for just 25 runs on the board. However,  Hafeez stepped up for his franchise, to score a 46-ball 69. Harry Brook (41*), and David Wiese (28*), gave the team an explosive finish. Lahore set Multans a target of 181 runs.

In reply, Multan Sultans were bowled out for just 138 runs, handing Lahore Qalandars their first PSL title win. Mohammad Hafeez continued his brilliance with the ball as well, as he took 2/23 along with who took 3/30.
