Dinesh Karthik to lead TN side in Vijay Hazare Trophy; squad announced

Dinesh Karthik is all set to lead the Tamil Nadu side in the upcoming edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy. The 16-member squad for the tournament was released yesterday which also has few international players.

Vijay Shankar, the all-rounder who represented India in the initial phase of World Cup 2019 has also been included in the side. He will also be a part of the leadership group alongside Karthik.

M Vijay, Washington Sundar, and  Abhinav Mukund are named as a part of the side. Apart from the above other names such as N Jagadeesan ( Consistent run-scorer in TNPL), Murugan Ashwin and few other young talents have also been inducted.

The probables are currently practising at Tirupur and Dinesh Karthik is expected to join the side today.

The TN side hasn”t even reached the quarterfinal of the tournament during the last season. A huge responsibility lies on the shoulders of Dinesh Karthik to take his side forward.

This edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy will see 37 teams battling for the coveted trophy. The tournament starts on September 24 and spans over a period of 2 weeks.

Last year, the Mumbai side won the trophy comfortably, courtesy the knock of Aditya Tare down the order.
