England comfortably defeated India by 10 wickets to advance to the final of the T20 World Cup versus Pakistan on Sunday. The Men in Blue weren’t seen dominating the game yesterday and several cricketers have lashed out at India for their performance in the semi-finals.

Unlike England, who had gotten off to a great start, India scored only 38-1 in their six overs. Former England captain Micheal Vaughan, in his column for the Telegraph, shared his opinion about India’s defeat.

“Every player in the world who goes to the Indian Premier League says how it improves their game but what have India ever delivered? I’m just staggered by how they play T20 cricket for the talent they have. They have the players, but just do not have the right process in place. They have to go for it. Why do they give the opposition bowlers the first five overs to bed in?” Vaughan said.

“Nobody wants to criticise because you get hammered on social media” – Michael Vaughan on India

Moreover, Michael Vaughan also questioned the way the team is not utilising a talent like Rishabh Pant in this format. Pant only paid two games in the ongoing T20 World Cup, however, failed to make a mark.

“How they have not maximized someone like Rishabh Pant is incredible. In this era, put him up the top to launch it. India have to be honest now. Nobody wants to criticize them because you get hammered on social media and pundits worry about losing work in India one day. But it is time to tell it straight,” concluded Vaughan.

India scored 168-6 in their innings courtesy of half-centuries by Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli. Openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul were scratchy in the team they spent on the crease. England’s openers, Jos Buttler and Alex Hales took them across the line scoring an unbeaten 80* and 86*, respectively.

The final clash of the T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday is a repeat fixture of the 1992 world cup final.
