Indian pacer Deepak Chahar suffered a big injury during the T20I series between India and West Indies in the month of February. Since then he has missed all the T20I matches of India and the 2022 season of Indian Premier League. It was a huge blow to him and his chances for T20 WC.

During the recovery period, Deepak Chahar faced a back injury which prolonged his recovery time. He is currently going through his rehab programme at National Cricket Academy (NCA). Deepak revealed that has started bowling four to five overs at one go. It would need five weeks more for his recovery.

Deepak Chahar told PTI: “I am bowling four to five overs at one go as per my rehab programme right now. My recovery is going pretty well and I think it will take another four to five weeks for me to get match fit. It’s a step-by-step process as far as recovery is concerned.”

Deepak Chahar believes that he would need to play club level games to check his fitness. Deepak feels that he wouldn’t be fit till the T20I series against England. “I don’t think I will be fit for the England T20Is. Once I am match fit, I will need to play some club-level games to check my fitness.”, added Deepak Chahar.

Washington Sundar to represent Lancashire in county cricket

Washington Sundar too injured himself during the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He is also going through rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). According to reports, Sundar can be seen playing county cricket for Lancashire.

A BCCI source to Times of India said: “Washington is nearing full fitness and he needs a lot of game time, which he will get only in red-ball cricket. He is going to play for Lancashire and this exposure will do him a world of good.”
