The veteran all-rounder from West Indies Dwayne Bravo has been an integral part of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has played a significant role during their three IPL title campaign under MS Dhoni’s leadership.
Meanwhile, Bravo was retained by the Super Kings for Rs 6.4 crore via the use of Right to Match Card in IPL 2018 auction. He played a pivotal role in the tournament as he scalped 14 wickets and scored 141 runs in 16 matches. Dwyane Bravo once again played a crucial role scalping 11 wickets but failed one step ahead of the defending their title losing to Mumbai Indians in the final.
In a recent conversation on Instagram Live, Dwayne Bravo revealed an anecdote when MS Dhoni braced himself for another challenge as he faced all-rounder Dwayne Bravo in a three-run dash. The legendary wicket-keeper batsman also tempted Bravo calling him an old man which compelled to West Indian to take up the challenge after the final.
“He kept saying throughout the entire season that I am an old man, I am an old man. I am very slow. I told him, ‘I will challenge you in a sprint between the wickets’. He said ‘no chance’. I said ‘we will do it after the tournament is over’,” Bravo told Chennai Super Kings.
“I said ‘I don’t want to do it in the middle of the tournament and one of us pop our hamstrings’. We did it after the final. It was a very close race, very very close. He beat me. It was a good race. He was very quick,” he added.
