Chennai Super Kings star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has posted an emotional message on social media before leaving for the Caribbean. The Chennai based franchise has had a dismal show in this IPL season as they have managed to win just three matches this season. Obviously, this comes as a surprise for a side which has qualified for each and every playoff ever since the Indian Premier League began way back in 2008.
But 13 years down the line, all doesn’t seem well with the Chennai Super Kings franchise. Ever since they landed in the UAE for the tournament they have been dealing with constant problems. At first, it was as many as 10 members of the support staff getting tested positive for COVID-19 which was followed by Harbhajan Singh backing out and then Suresh Raina too decided to return back to India due to family reasons.
Talking about Dwayne Bravo, he had been dealing with a groin prior to the tournament which he sustained during the Caribbean Premier League. Which is why he didn’t feature in the starting few matches for Chennai Super Kings this season. Even after he returned back from injury Bravo didn’t look like he was fully fit as he struggled through the injury even while playing.

In the match against Delhi Capitals, Dwayne Bravo left the field during the match and never returned back to the playing field. It was expected that Bravo would bowl the last over against Delhi Capitals with more than 18 runs required but it was Ravindra Jadeja who was handed the ball instead.
Ever since that match, Bravo didn’t feature for the Chennai Super Kings as head coach Stephen Fleming confirmed that Bravo’s injury is serious and won’t feature for quite a few games. But earlier today Chennai Super Kings confirmed that Bravo has been ruled out of the tournament and will head to the Caribbean at the earliest.
It’s sad to be leaving my team CSK – Dwayne Bravo
Before leaving for the Caribbean, Dwayne Bravo appeared in a video posted on Chennai Super Kings’ social media channel where he had a special message for his fans. He felt sad leaving the franchise midway through the tournament but he doesn’t want the fans to stop supporting the side despite not having the ideal show this season
“It’s sad news, it’s sad to be leaving my team CSK. To all our CSK fans, I want you all to keep encouraging the team, keep supporting, all the true die-hard CSK fans. This wasn’t a season that we expected or our fans wanted, but we gave it our best. Sometimes, our best, the results don’t show,” Bravo said in the video message shared by Chennai Super Kings.
