India’s loss against England at Leeds was very much down to how the Indian middle-order batsmen batted on day four. Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane were dismissed within a matter of overs as India lost their last seven wickets for 63 runs on the fourth morning at Headingley. Former England skipper Michae Vaughan slammed the Indian batsmen saying that they were useless in the second innings.
Reviewing India’s performance after their defeat at Headingley, Vaughan said that Indian batsman have been guilty of getting dismissed in the same way throughout the Test series so far. Harsha Bhogle specifically pointed out to the sameness of their dismissals highlighting the weakness in their technique. He further said that their modes of dismissals must worry the Indian fans and the management.
“That’s the problem for India I mean. The dismissals for all the players are common. It’s just like a DVD that keeps playing its just the same. England have got their plans for every Indian player.
Further speaking about Ajinkya Rahane, Michael Vaughan said that that his form is an issue for the Indian team.
“When you have common trends that are happening, you have to make changes, England did the same, they got rid of Crawley and Sibley. I think India need to make changes” Vaughan said.
Michael Vaughan Slams India’s Performance
Earlier, the former England captain slammed India’s performance saying that they were useless. Resuming day four on 215/3, India were skittled out for 278 with Ollie Robinson bagging his second fifer of the series.
