Another day and another failure for Rishabh Pant. The poor form of Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh pant continues in the series. On day 1 of the Oval Test Chris Woakes took the wicket of the left-handed batsman. Pant tried to run down the pitch, Woakes saw it coming and cleverly bowled a slower ball, wide of off stump. Pant was committed to play his shot and lobs a simple catch to Moeen at mid-off.
Former England cricketer slams the left-handed batsman for his poor shot selection and said he is a better player than that.
Pant looks to hit his way out of trouble but toe ends one straight to mid-off as India spiral further.

Speaking to Harsha Bhogle on Cricbuzz Vaughan said, “It’s now enough is enough! It can’t be that that’s the way he plays. He is a better player than that. By dancing down the wicket, he is moving his head, he can’t have a base to swing”
Adding to Vaughan, Harsha said “For a long time we thought Rishabh Pant will be a good batsman and we were worried about his keeping. Suddenly his keeping has improved but batting has become a concern now.”
“I think India wants Rishabh pant to embrace a little more,” Harsha added.
The left-handed wicket-keeper batsman had scored 9 runs in 33 balls and attracted sharp criticism in the manner in which he got out. The 23-year-old is struggling in the ongoing series having scored 96 runs in 6 innings with an average of 16.
