Former Pakistan Cricketer Salman Butt is all praise for India’s right-arm pacer Mohammed Siraj. Siraj has made a mark for himself in a short international career so far. He has picked up nineteen wickets in six matches at an average of 30.73.
In a video uploaded on his Youtube Channel, Salman termed Siraj as a “future prospect for India”. He said:
“Mohammed Siraj may be relatively inexperienced at the Test level but he has played a lot of first-class cricket and has been on A tours as well. The way he bowls, it doesn’t seem like he is a newcomer in Test cricket. He knows what lines to bowl. He is young and has the pace as well. Siraj has challenged the batsmen, bent his back, and bowled bouncers. He is tall and strong. Siraj is definitely a brilliant future prospect. He is providing the team with wickets and not giving away too much.”
Mohammed Siraj bagged three wickets in the recently concluded first test match against England at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Salman Butt stated that Siraj fits into the Indian team well. He also lauded Shardul Thakur for his impressive performance in the first test match. Shardul Thakur picked up four wickets, including the wicket of the English skipper Joe Root.
“He fits into this team really well. I don’t know whether Ishant Sharma was fit or not for the first Test but Siraj was really impressive as was Shardul Thakur. They backed Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami really well. It is because of their fast bowlers that India has started winning Tests away from home,” Salman Butt concluded.
The second Test match between India and England will take place on August 12 at Lord’s, London. Both teams will hope to take a lead and be in the driver’s seat in the five-match Test series.
