ENG vs IND 2021: Never Seen Such An Indian Fast Bowling Line-up: Inzamam-ul-Haq

Former Pakistan cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq is all praise for India’s fast bowling attack. The pacers took all ten wickets against England in the second innings of the test match.

Jasprit Bumrah bagged a fifer, adding to his four wickets in the first innings. Mohammad Shami and Shardul Thakur picked two wickets each while Mohammad Siraj took one. The Indian team needs 157 runs on day 5 to gain a 1-0 lead in the five-match test series.

In a video uploaded on Inzamam-ul-Haq’s Youtube Channel, he lauded the Indian pacers. Inzamam said,

“With their fast bowling on the first day, Team India set the rhythm for the series. They put England on the back foot right away. Subcontinent bowlers often find it difficult in the first Test since the lines to be bowled in England are different. Team India’s bowlers demoralized England’s batting.”

The former Pakistan cricketer lavished praise for India’s lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah. He stated that Bumrah’s spell pushed the hosts on the backfoot. He further added that he has never seen an Indian fast bowling attack like this.

“Bumrah picked up four wickets in the first innings and put England on the backfoot. Joe Root scored a fifty in the first innings as well but Bumrah never allowed him to feel comfortable. The others pacers like Mohammed Shami and Siraj are also brilliant. I have never seen such an Indian fast bowling line-up. Team India have produced very good fast bowlers in the past as well. But the current Indian pacers have genuine fast bowlers’ aggression. When you have aggressive pacers, such performances are bound to come about.”

In the fourth innings, Opener KL Rahul was sent back early on 26. Rohit Sharma 12* and Cheteshwar Pujara 12* will resume the Indian inning on day five.
